This fall 2011, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) will be bringing The Refugee Camp in the Heart of the City exhibit to Eastern Canada on a four-city tour. Halifax: Garrison Grounds, September 15-18, 2011 Moncton: Riverfront Park, September 22-25, 2011 The goal of the exhibit is to raise awareness about the plight of the world’s 43 million refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) uprooted by war and conflict. Welcome Back

The summer has flown by and here we are back at school for another year. Hopefully, you have all read some really great books on your break or maybe revisited an old favourite. I haven't done as much reading as usual because I was off on an adventure, both visiting old friends and exploring the wilds of France, Germany and Iceland.
A book I did read, and really enjoyed, was Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson, a very funny account of his farewell tour of Britain. If you are thinking of visiting England or Scotland, this is an entertaining and informative book that will give you a Bryson slant on the island.
Another good read was If I stay by Gayle Forman, told from the perspective of 17 year old Mia as she stands watching herself after a terrible traffic accident. It is touching and sweet and sometimes funny but never maudlin.
I also revisited Tolkien's trilogy Lord of the Rings, both the books and movies. If you are a fantasy fan and have not read these books, you might want to give them a try.
